Jennifer Dew, Founder & Designer
Jennifer began her career at GTCC, studying mechanical drafting and design. She loved the program for its focus on the technical process. As much as mechanical drafting was a hard skill, she liked that there was plenty of room for inventiveness and creativity.
Her first job after graduating was at a sign company doing just that. She drafted their designs on the drafting table — at this point that type of work was not all done on computers yet. What fascinated her most in that role was the process of crafting a design and seeing it become a tangible product in action.
That is, in essence, what made the sign industry stand out to her most from a design sense.
Jennifer worked in Texas for a few years building her skills, and has even done custom projects for a resort in the Bahamas. For the resort, she designed a full suite of fun-themed signs and wayfinding signs. Being able to see the finished signs throughout the resort was especially rewarding, and something that has stuck with her throughout her career.
